About Me

I started building websites as an apprentice in 2011 and never looked back. What began with WordPress and jQuery has grown into 15 years of professional experience across agencies, product companies, and proptech.

I'm currently a Senior Software Engineer at Street Group, where I build tools that power the UK property market. Before that, I cut my teeth at agencies like Gumpo, BLISS, and DBLX, working across everything from Drupal and Laravel to React and Go.

What I Care About

Craft with velocity. AI means we can move faster than ever. But speed without intention just creates debt faster. I use every tool available to ship quickly while still building things that last.

Simplicity. The best code I've written is code I've deleted. If an abstraction doesn't earn its place, it shouldn't exist.

Teaching and learning. I've learned the most from engineers who took the time to explain their thinking. I try to pay that forward in code reviews and mentoring.

Outside of Work

When I'm not at a keyboard, you'll find me painting Warhammer miniatures, playing D&D, training Muay Thai, hiking, or cooking. I like hobbies that use a completely different part of my brain to the day job.
